Desolation Angel Radio April 8th, 2023 - Great Blue Heron Volunteer Edition

This episode of the podcast looks at volunteering at the Heron for the Great Blue Heron Music Festival. Conversations with Faith Graham, Kristy & Joe Blask, Domenic Rocco, Nicole White, myself, Jim Kaleta, Jen Raines and Payge Olson. Information on what each crew does, and why all these people volunteer, and have done so for so long, their reasons for it. Pretty cool people. Information from Jen on Lifeguarding being a paid position this year, and information from all of us on what crews still need volunteers and how to do it.

This episode is a return to what we've now started to call the Comstock Breakfast Club and we managed to get Mary Knecht and Teri Pelfresne in with the group. It's becoming pretty regular, even Gina and Paula called in from the road. There's music from everyone, as these episodes I let the group pick the music, so it's a pretty stellar setlist of music from the 70's you'll instantly recognize, a fun conversation where we talk a bit about everything, and in all of it, that sense of connection.

Desolation Angel Radio March 4th, 2023 - Comstock 75 Breakfast Club Pt. 3

This week's big episode. Another gathering of what's come to be called the Comstock 75 Breakfast Club. Some incredible, beautiful, wonderful human beings. John Stanaszek, Diane Parker, Tom Bennett, Gina Hammond, Steve Schultz and Paula Chase. An hour's worth of the much longer conversation we had, and the spirit of friendship and connection flows throughout it, proving that even after 50 years, we're all still friends. The music surrounding that conversation was all picked by them (go ahead, guess who picked which songs, except the last 3, I picked those), and it's great music from the 70's and 80's. For those of you from Comstock that haven't been part of this yet, don't worry, you'll have that chance. It's become a standing get-together, and we'll get you in. This one? Desolation Angel Radio Feb. 11th, 2023

This one's all music. We're in the Spring cycle now, one week Heron and the family and festival there, one week all Comstock 75 Breakfast Club, and one week all music. This is one of the all music ones (albeit, with quite a bit of information about the Heron, and about the next expanded edition of Comstock Breakfast Club) and as per normal with the all music ones, the music and the songs tell a part of my story, very accurately.
