Here you go, the real deal. Musicians, real ones, who take chances and put themselves out there. The best of 2012, so far, in the first quarter. No cover bands, no posers, no weekend wanna-be's here. No NashAngeles created rhythms, software created lyrics, or consultant-bred fake outlaws here; they aren't welcome. No pop-country found here, no R & B/Country Lionel Ritchie/Rascal Flatts crossover pop shit here, that crap is shown for what it is here in Desolation Angel territory; fake, plastic profit driven garbage. If it's the junk you can hear on Kix Brooks, Jeff Foxworthy, your local Young Country or Classic Rock station, or can be seen on the CMA or AMC awards, you can't hear it here. Out here in the Desolation, all you hear is authentic, real, raw, passionate musicianship, hard work, originality and dedication. The best of 2012 so far:
Shooter Jennings
Justin Townes Earle
Lucero
Ray Wylie Hubbard
Lincoln Durham
Kara Clark
Otis Gibbs
The Boss
Sons of Bill
Turchi
Dr. John
John Henry and The Engine
Thank you for supporting real musicians, who are willing to put it out there for the sake of their art, thanks for being a listener to a show that's willing to play these folks with no advertising, no commercials and no sponsors. The show is also now available on iTunes as a free podcast, or as a free subscription. Remember that ratings and comments get consideration for suggestions for upcoming playlists or show themes.
