Listen to this one and share it as many ways as possible in this day and age of social media. In the end, you, the listeners, are the most important and the most critical piece of it. Desolation Angel Radio did throw a hell of a show on Thursday night. No, it had nothing to do with the supposed end of the world, we don't buy that shit or participate in that silliness, nope, Thursday night was the start of the Christmas weekend. I'd love to list all the bands and artists in the show, but instead just give a listen to our annual "Christmas music that doesn't suck" show. Have a safe and enjoyable very Merry Christmas. We most definitely won't be on the air Tuesday night, but we'll be back Thursday to wrap the year up.

Thank you for being part of the Desolation Angel family, for being a member of the congregation of the high church of rock and roll, and supporting music, and these artists and bands. It's important in this day and age of corporate homogenization. Please remember to share this freely and often as many ways as you can; FB, Twitter, Google +, email and all the different and various ways of communicating, and remember to go to these band's web stores and buy their CD's and go see them live.

The Tuesday night rock and roll flying circus, rodeo and tent revival hit the airwaves and nailed it, thanks to a playlist that included:
The Band - the preshow was a lot of unreleased material from the The Last Waltz, including the long, long jam that occurred at the end of the night
The show concentrated on a couple of themes. It's well known that yes, I theme Tuesdays. We spent almost a year going back to Robert Johnson, Leadbelly, Son House, Elmore James, Lightning Hopkins, Bo Diddley and the like. People like Townes VanZandt, Gram Parsons, Jerry Jeff Walker, Willie, Waylon, Kris and Johnny are heard here often, but the question is this. How did a long-haired 16 year old in 1974 in the Midwest get turned on to the blues and country to begin with? Simple, it was the major bands of the era, and you know what. 2012 has been as great a year as any year in the mid-70's:
John Fogerty - Hey Tonight
Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You
The Rolling Stones - Honky Tonk Women
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Swamp Music
The Allman Brothers Band - Done Somebody Wrong
The Eagles - Doolin Dalton
Ray Wylie Hubbard - Wanna Rock and Roll
American Aquarium - Cape Fear River
Reckless Kelly - Back In the USA
Cody Canada & The Departed - Hobo
Lucero - Women and Work
North Mississippi Allstars - Rollin' and Tumblin'
As always, thanks for supporting the show, the artists and the music. It's really about that - the music - and supporting those folks who come through your town, and getting out to see people live, buying their music, keeping them eating. Please share this as many ways as humanly possible; FB, Twitter, Google +, Reddit, email. I thank you personally for your continued support.

Fellow members of the high church of rock and roll, fellow members of the congregation of soulfullness, roots and truth, brothers and sisters of the gospel of the Desolation Angel, the Thursday night service was held, souls were saved through the salvation of 3-bar blues, songwriting, 4 chords, a head on an amp with the voltage turned down, gritty down to saturate those tubes and the message was delivered:
The pre-show, if you tuned in, was some old Dire Straits, and some old Allman Brothers straight off the boards.
Jerry Jeff Walker - Tryin' To Hold The Wind Up With A Sail
Townes VanZandt - Lungs
Gram Parsons - Streets of Baltimore
Kacey Musgraves - Merry Go 'Round
JD Mcpherson - Dimes for Nickels
Kasey Chambers & Shane Nichols - Wreck and Ruin
Whitey Morgan & The 78's - Long Road Home
Doop & The Inside Outlaws - Sittin' Here
Chris Dupont - A Thousand Miles
Tom Russell - The Death of Jimmy Martin
John Prine - Jesus, The Missing Years
The White Buffalo - The Whistler
Thanks so much for being part of what we're doing here. Whether you know it, or not, you're part of a revolution in music. The independent broadcasters, like this one, are trying to keep the music and the songs alive and keep the corporate labels and radio stations from swallowing music whole and turning it all into pod-people, cookie cutter, sound alike music, and by listening you're supporting that. Now, as the producer, director and host of the program, I don't charge you for landing here on the podcast site and listening to the music, or jumping the live feed into the studio during the broadcast, but what I'd like you to do is to share this as many ways as humanly possible; FB, Twitter, Google +, email and get the word out. I can depend on you to do that, can't I?
Peace,
Kip
