Desolation Angel Radio - Feb. 7th, 2024 - Comstock Breakfast Club 75

This episode of the podcast finds me, Diana, and Mary talking about some very heartfelt, intense and personal "stuff", with some good observations about roots, and small town, hometown roots and bonds and working to keep those vibrant, and today and how they help get through things. The music? It's all based on Fast Car by Tracy Chapman, which we'd all heard performed at the Grammy's 3 nights before, and it took off from there with everyone contributing songs that still have impact after all this time. Selections from me, Diana, Mary and from Gina, Steve, Tom, Karen, Paula, the whole bunch chipped in. Tune in for a couple of hours, it's what long term friendship and support sound like, and I couldn't be a luckier human being.

Desplation Angel Radio Feb. 3rd, 2024 - Heron Early Bird Blind Faith ticket sales

This episode finds Payge Olson and I talking about the ticket sales for this year's Heron, July 5th, 6th, and 7th and how people can get the lowest ticket price of the season by purchasing now on blind faith without knowing the lineup, but just knowing they're going to be there, the mechanics of that, and the routes to the ticket site, and some conversation around what volunteering looks like this year. No lineup announcement yet, and there aren't any cryptic clues in the music surrounding the conversation, just music that sounds good, and that myself and Payge like.

Desolation Angel Radio January 28th, 2024 - The everything and the kitchen sink episode

This episode finds me talking with, interviewing. . me. This is one of the rare shows in that in-between period of January and February that lets me stretch myself a bit with what I talk about, and with what I play, in between the talking segments, the music that I listen to myself and like. You'll find out exactly what the Nomad Project is, and exactly where it came from, the events of the last 7 years that drove it. You'll find out that the Heron is putting tickets on sale this coming week for this year's Great Blue Heron Music Festival, and you'll hear about the Comstock bunch, and what we have coming up. Desolation Angel Radio Jan 14th, 2024 - Julie Rockcastle and Jim Donovan -Eclipse event at the Heron

This episode finds me talking to Julie Rockcastle and Jim Donovan, and we talk about how the Eclipse event in April out at the Heron, on April 7th and 8th. A weekend of activities, Jim Donovan and the Sun King Warriors on Sunday night with a full set, food trucks, camping available all at the Green Heron Farm and Event Center, home of the Great Blue Heron Music Festival. All the information you need about what's going to be happening that weekend, and how you can buy tickets and be there. We go all over the map in the interview, not just the book, but going back to Comstock, memories, other people we both know, catching one another up on our lives in just about every aspect. This episode is literally heartwarming. A meeting of the Comstock Breakfast Club '75, the last one before Christmas, and the connection is obvious. John led a discussion asking everyone what their favorite Christmas memories of Kalamazoo and Comstock were. There's family memories, neighborhood memories, and so much laughter and love. John Stanaszek, Tom Bennett, Diane Parker LaPiana, Steve Schultz, Jill Baskerville and Mary Knecht (O'Leary) and myself spent an hour plus laughing, and smiling and remembering.
