Desolation Angel Radio hit the air Tuesday night and followed the arc we've been following on Tuesdays. The look back at the 60's and 70's we've been taking wouldn't be complete without taking a look at the genre birthed by Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Brothers. So, the 11 best bands of that genre, and yes, some of it is mainstream and radio-friendly, but remember back then, it was fresh, new and spawned an entire category:
The Charlie Daniels Band - Trudy
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Swamp Music
Wet Willie - Everything that 'cha do (Will come back to you)
The Outlaws - There Goes Another Love Song
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Born On The Bayou
Black Oak Arkansas - Uncle Elijah
Blackfoot - Rattlesnake Rock 'n Roller
The Marshall Tucker Band - Ramblin'
.38 Special - Caught Up In You
ZZ Top - Move Me On Down The Line
Allman Brothers Band - Hot "Lanta
As always, thanks for being part of what we do here, thanks for being part of the movement in independent, unsponsored broadcasts, and thanks for keeping it real. Spread this as many ways as possible in social media, through email, however you can.
Peace,
Kip

Remember to go out and see someone live and local this weekend, and support your local scene, buy the artists's music, don't rip it, and spread the word on this show in social media like Facebook, Twitter and Google +
